Research

I am a senior researcher and specialist in language teaching and teacher education, with over 20 years of experience. My research invetigates the potential contribution of language education to social justice, and seeks solutions that improve students' experience of learning languages at school. My projects have focused on questions such as: What does good practice in language policy and pedagogy for multilingual learners look like? How can students’ identities and practices of language use outside school be built on in school? And how can technology be leveraged to support language education and language teacher education?
